War Crimes???

What is it that constitutes war crimes???
Should any U.S. Marine be exempt  from the same punishment which several other U.S. soldiers have received for crimes agains't the Iraqi people???  I ask you all to view the photographs that I have obtained, which are 100 percent authentic, and leave you comments.  This particular U.S. Marine is still serving overseas.  Thus far, this U.S. Marine has not been held accountable for his military misconduct agains't the Iraqi Citizens.  Should he be exempt from punishment???  Or should this U.S. Marine face the same punishment the others have received???  What do you think???

I am positive that you have all seen the soldiers on television that were convicted for their war crimes.  Should all those who are guilty for war crimes reap the same punishment???

If you feel that this particular U.S. Marine should be held accountable for his military midconduct,  then you may contact Mr. Powell at:  (703) 614-8029 or (571) 432-8718.

Otherwise, please comment your opinions on this site!  Thank you.

Blessings!

Hello everyone!

I want to "thank you" all for your kind & caring thoughts as well as your kind & thoughtful comments on my site while I was away on business.  I am sure that your caring thoughts & prayers have a lot to do with the beautiful "gift" I received while I was away.

Be sure to visit my new space at:

for all future entries.  I received many
emails while I was away also.  I have been busy this beautiful Sunday afternoon responding to all of them.

There have been quite a few updates on our prayer list as well.

As we are now nearing Christmas time fast there is much to do!  There is a homeless shelter here in Sioux Falls at the Salvation Army.  This will be the last year they are allowed to open their doors as a winter  homeless shelter for the homeless because of some new city ordinance.  This is a crying shame and I am outraged!  Every year there is a televised Catholic mass held at the St. Joseph Cathedral Church, which is my own home church.
This year I am hoping to have the Christmas Eve Midnight Mass held at the Salvation Army for the  homeless!  This is my Christmas goal this year!  Please pray with me that my prayers are answered for mass at the shelter!

God bless you all and I want you all to know how good it is to be home!  I am looking very forward to our Thursday morning hour of prayer.  We all have much to be thankful for!  Let us offer our thanks and praise to the Lord Jesus Christ!  Also remember to try to do whatever it is you can to help the less fortunate and the needy this holiday season.  There are many folk without enough food and warm clothing.  Even a single loaf of bread can mean so much to a hungry person!  There is much poverty and despair in this country that we are oftentimes blinded by our own bounty from truly taking notice of the suffering of others.  There are many hungry, suffering people all around us!  All we have to do is open our hearts that our eye's might see!

May God be with you all this Christmas time.

Sincerely,
Michelle

You can go to:

to visit new site.

My Circle of Prayer friend, Larry, will be managing our Circle of Prayer group while I am away.  I will be leaving for Cedar Rapids, Iowa on Tuesday, the 8th for a while.  I am going to make every effort to return home again by Thanksgiving Day.  So during this period of time, I will be absent from msn spaces.  However, please know that I will be taking a copy of my prayer list with me on my trip, and that I will continue to unite with you all in our weekly prayer, on Thurs. mornings between 8-9 a.m.  Please keep your prayers coming strong!  Many of our prayers have already been answered!

Remember that even Jesus Christ prayed!

May God bless you & be with you all until my return, and forevermore.

Dear Circle of Prayer Members

I am looking very forward to uniting with all of you in prayer in the morning. (Thursday a.m./between 8-9).
Please remember to update all of your prayer lists sometime this evening!  We want to have all our prayer requests/lists up-to-date.

I believe that our prayers are being heard and that the healing Lord Jesus Christ is responding to our prayers!

Satan understands the Power of Prayer, and he is fighting fiercely to reduce its impact.  That is why power in numbers is so strong! Satan knows that the biggest spiritual battles are won or lost because of prayer, therefore, Satan is blinding many people's eye's to the need and urgency of prayer!  Reflect upon our Lord's prayer...Our Father.  Satan is real and Satan is working overtime to distract us from prayer and he is doing everything that he possibly can in attempt to separate us from our personal relationship...our at-one-ment with our Lord, God.
However, when we come before God in prayer we give Him full control over a situation, and we are acknowledging His sovereignity in that area.  As a result, God begins to work on the problem with His mighty power!  God desires to be involved in every part of our life.  He wants us to specifically commit each of our concerns to Him.  In fact, the more specific we are in our prayers, the more direct and effective our prayers are until we enter God's presence and He unfolds the completed story.  It is at that time that each one of us will see how people were saved and lives changed as a direct result of our prayers!  Your prayers are working God's miracles into the lives of others every time you pray!  God is continually working in ways that we are unaware!  So be careful not to judge others which might directly interfere with the miracle that is taking place in that person's life RIGHT NOW by the power of God!

There are great needs in this under-evangelized world!
So many people cop the attitude of "what is the point?"  This discouragement is the very thing that keeps many of us from even trying;  but keep one thing in mind:  God does not expect any of us to change the whole world;  yet there is MUCH to reasonably accomplish, and together is the best start!  Uniting together in prayer can accomplish more than we may have ever thought possible!

For some, many short prayers throughout the day are easier than praying an hour at a time.  However, my own systematic prayer list is a list of people, Chrisitans and non-Christians, whom I have met or have come in touch with throughout the years in some way.  I systematically work through this list from top to bottom until I have completed my prayer offerings for each and every one.
Praying for 100 names at a sitting is non-burdensome to me and yet gives me the opportunity to intercede for a large group of people.  This is very personally rewarding for me.  Why?  Because it makes me feel so wonderful inside that the Power of Prayer can do so much good in this aching world we are living in!  That no matter how fragile this life may seem...the strength of the Lord, God is present in our lives!  When I pray for people, I not only pray for their Salvation, but I ask God to make them strong, dynamic Christians who will become prayer warriors in their own right.  I also ask God to raise up thousands more people to pray for this person!  The beautiful thing about a prayer chain is the support of prayer which we receive one from another.
So, although I may pray, I am confident that God will raise up others to continue where I have left off!

I always ask the first name (or full name) of those for whom I am praying for because I feel that praying many times for one person is much more effective than praying only once for a person.  (Although we should never underestimate the power of only one prayer!)
I have come to find that there are many people in this world who have never had a Christian pray for them!
Where there is a Circle of Prayer, there is no need to feel overburdened.  We are one for another.  There are a couple people who were at one time a part of our msn Circle of Prayer who have chosen to break away from our circle with the excuse that they felt overburdened.  Of course, not one of us are obligated.  Our committment to prayer for one another is a completely self-less act on our own part through the Love of the Lord Jesus Christ by the example He has given us.  Yet, how can any one of us feel so overburdened when we are united together, so many of us, one for another???  That is nonsense!  There is a great importance for being consistent and faithful in upholding our good christian works through our prayer and best efforts to be as helpful as we can for the benefit of humankind.  We have all been born into this world with our own special gifts.  These are God's gifts to us, one for another!  What good are these special gifts if no one receives them?  As we serve our Lord, let us always remember to ask other people to hold our ropes when we need them to!  Whenever a lifeguard dives into a pool to save someone, he ties a rope around himself as he hands the other end for someone to hold.  This is the same support we all need one from another!  If the lifeguard forgot to tell someone to "hold onto the rope" that person would go down in the water without a lifeline!  We need to remind ourselves and one another that sometimes we, too, need someone to hold the rope for us!

May the Lord, God bless you all and bring peace into your lives.

The Church of Christ

Body of Christ

Jesus said, "Now you are the body of Christ, and each of you is a part of it."
~1 Corinthians 12:27

The Church is the People of God, Body of Christ, Temple of the Holy Spirit, which all become one member.  The Church in Communion with Jesus Christ becomes one body, and Jesus Christ is the head of this body.  The Body of Christ is the Church.

God desires unity.  With God nothing is impossible! Therefore, when Jesus prayed, ...."that they may all be one;  even as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that thou sent me.  The glory which thou hast given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, I in them and thou in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world my know that thou has sent me and hast loved them even as thou hast loved me.  Father, I desire that they also, who thou hast given me, may be with me where I am, to behold  my glory which thou hast given me in thy love for me before the foundation of the world."  ~John 17:  21-23
Therefore, Jesus certainly had us in mind!  In the spirit of His prayer we seek unity with all others in Christ.  This is what the Lord Jesus Christ desired for us!

Christianity involves an individual relationship of each person with Christ, through action,  motivated by concern for the suffering of other human beings.  "Mere waiting and looking on is not Christian behavior.  The Christian is called to sympathy and action, not in the first place by his own sufferings, but by the sufferings of his brethren for whose sake Christ suffered." (Deitrich Bonhoeffer)  It is our individual responsibility, as Christians, to "model our awareness of the suffering of others after the compassion of Christ for humanity."  As Christians, it is our individual responsibility to extend ourselves to other fellow Christians, to bring us closer to each other as well as to God.

"Human life extends far beyond our physical existence.  When we are suffering the loss of our loved ones, it is only then that we feel how closely our lives are bound up with other people's, and in fact how the centre of our own lives is outside ourselves."  (Deitrich Benhoeffer)

God's Answers To Our Prayers

I constantly hear so many complaints about how God never answers prayer.  So many folk have come to me with their complaints about how they have prayed for so long, with all their heart & soul, yet it seems as if God never hears their prayers, or answers their prayers.

Well, let me tell you RIGHT NOW  that there is only one way to God, and that is through the Lord Jesus Christ!

What does that mean???

Let me explain a few things...

Jesus said, as recorded in the book of James 5:16, "Confess your faults one to another and pray for one another that ye may be healed."

So ask yourself this:  How can we go to the Lord Jesus Christ and ask Him to respond to our own call when there are those whom we have injured in some way with whom we have not yet made our best effort to make amends with?  How can we ask the Lord, Jesus Christ to come to our rescue before we have confessed our own sins, asked forgiveness for our own sins and repented for our own sins?
Now does that make any sense to you?  How can we, as unrepenting sinners, go to the Lord, Jesus Christ, and ask for our own favors with an impure heart?

Too many folk mistakingly think that just because the blood of the Lord, Jesus Christ has washed away their sins, they have been excused from their own responsibilities toward one another. As if the Lord Jesus Christ is going to just sweep their sins beneath some carpet as if the pain we have caused other people is simply going to vanish and disappear.  Wrong!  That is not the case!  The Bible tells us that Jesus said there will be those he tells:  "Go, your workers of iniquity, for I never knew you!"

The Truth is that we do have a responsibility towards one another!
God created human beings, one for another.  How can we even expect God to hear our own cries when He has turned His face from our own sin?  The Bible clearly states that God will turn His face away from us by our own sin.  (Isaiah 59:2)  It is our responsibility to ask forgiveness for our own sin, repent, and then make amends for our own sin.  Not even Jesus Christ is going to repent for your sins!  Only you can make reparation for your own sins through the Lord Jesus Christ, by confession (acknowledging your sins, one to another), asking forgiveness for those sins (from all those you have transgressed agains't or injured in some way), and then by repenting for those sins.  What does repent mean?  Repent means to be truly sorry for your transgressions.  Always remember that God knows your heart!

Whenever you go to the Lord, Jesus Christ...go with a pure conscience and a pure heart!  That is a part of truly accepting the Lord, Jesus Christ, into your life.

The Bible speaks about every person needing forgiveness and every person needing to forgive.  Why?  Because we are all sinners in need of God's forgiveness. None of us is perfect.  We need God's grace and we need to extend that same mercy to others.

If you want to receive God's forgiveness and God's blessings then you must want to forgive others who have injured you in some way and you must want to make amends with those persons.  If you desire favors from the Lord, God, then you must also want your slate to be clean.  If we do not receive this grace from God, and extend it to others, the Scriptures make it clear that we will die in our sins.  God has made forgiveness so important, that all our happiness and fulfillment depend on it, in this life and the next!

1 John 1:9~ "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

Hosea 14:2-3~  "Take words with you and return to the Lord.  Say to Him:  "Forgive all our sins and receive us graciously, that we may offer the fruit of our lips ....We will never again say 'Our God's' to what our own hands have made."

Mark 11:25-26~  "And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him and let it drop...leave it, let it go, in order that your Father Who is in Heaven may also forgive your (own) failings and shortcomings and let them drop.  But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in Heaven forgive your failings and shortcomings."

Jesus Christ Himself said, "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God."  Jesus also said, "Blessed are the merciful, for they shall see mercy."

There will always be days...

"There will always be days...
when we cannot hold back the tears...
when we hurt so bad inside we can feel the pain in our fingertips...
when we can feel our burdens with every breath we take...
when our lives seem so full of darkness that we cannot see the light...
when we are trying to get to tomorrow, yet today is moving so slow that we feel we might be swallowed up by yesterday...
or, when the hours pass by so quickly we sit and wonder how time could have escaped us...
when the emptiness we feel inside from time to time reminds us that even though our busy lives may seem fulfilled there are still those times when we feel lonely and alone...
when we become so overwhelmed by exhaustion we feel like we need a mechanical life to get us going again...
even times we might feel that we cannot face another day."

"There will always be life storms...when times seem more difficult, more overwhelming, more unhappy than other times.  But God also promised us His Son-shine...
the days when we are so full of happiness we soar!
Days when the smile of a loved one sets your eye's and your heart aglow...
when our tears are of happiness and joy...
when we feel so much love inside our hearts we could just burst...
when a single moment begins with the touch of fingertips, then the grasping of one hand in the others, and ends with the warmest embrace imaginable...
when our hearts are so uplifted we sing outloud...
when we savor every moment that letting go seems as if it is the hardest thing you'll ever do...
when we are so anxiously anticipating some special event in our lives...
when life itself just seems so perfect that we forget to take a few moments to remind ourselves that this life is only temporary...
that we are not on this earth forever...
when we will have to say goodbye for just a little while, until we meet again, yet, although Christ promised what is bonded here on earth shall also be bonded in Heaven, it might never be quite the same."

"I  can tell you that with every glorious moment this life has ever given me, even if it were equal to only one day in time, was worth every moment of it!
Just one glorious day in a lifetime, to me, is worth all the in-between passages that might have not been so perfect.  For it is the Love that we carry in our hearts that stays with us forever.  The life storms that we endure are only temporary.  It isn't what is going on in this world that matters most...
it is what is going on in your own life and the difference that you make that is most important.
It is our gratefulness for the time that we had, for loving, for giving, for sharing, for embracing one another, which God will glorify in His kingdom of Heaven for all of eternity.  It is our Faith and Trust in our Lord, God that shines through all life's storms."

May you all live with peace in your hearts & souls.

God bless you always.

In The News...

This article was passed on to me by a friend.

The following poem was written by Judge Roy Moore from Alabama.
Judge Moore was sued by the ACLU  for displaying the Ten Commandments in his courtroom foyer.
He has been stripped of his judgeship and now they are trying to strip his right to practice Law in the state of Alabama.  The Judge's poem sums it up quite well:

"America the Beautiful,
or so you used to be.
Land of the Pilgrim's pride;
I'm glad they'll never see.

Babies piled in dumsters,
Abortion on demand,
Oh, sweet land of liberty;
your house is in the sand.

Our children wander aimlessly
Poisoned by cocaine,
Choosing to indulge their lusts,
When God has said abstain.

From sea to shining sea,
Our Nation turns away
From the teaching of God's love
And a need to always pray.

We've kept God in our temples,
How callous we have grown.
When earth is but His footstool,
and Heaven is His throne.

We've voted in a government
that's rotting at the core,
Appointing Godless Judges
Who throw reason out the door.

Too soft to place a killer
In as well deserved tomb,
But brave enough to kill a baby
Before he leaves the womb.

You think that God's not angry,
That our Land's a moral slum?
How much longer will He wait
Before His Judgment comes?

How are we to face our God,
From Whom we cannot hide?
What then is left for us to do,
But stem this evil tide?

If we who are His children,
will humbly turn and pray;
Seek His holy face
And mend our evil way:

Then God will hear from Heaven
And forgive us of our sins,
He'll heal our sickly nation
And those who live within.

But, America the Beautiful,
If you don't then you will see,
A sad but Holy God
Withdraw His hand from Thee."

"There's a miracle of Friendship
That dwells within the heart,
And you don't know how it happens
Or where it gets its start...
But the happiness it brings you
Always gives a special lift
And you realize that Friendship
Is God's most perfect gift."

Just a reminder for all to please remember to offer your prayers for all those on our prayer list on this beautiful Sunday morning.

Our member, David, tells me there are torrential rains in the Boston area and that his grandson, Anthony, is very ill.  Please say a prayer for thirteen year old Anthony and ask the Lord Jesus Christ for Anthony's speedy recovery.

On The Rebound

North Sioux City finding life after Gateway

In Memory of Sam:  Sioux Falls, SD

From the acreage where she has lived nearly six decades, 90 year old Bridget Flynn has watched the rise and fall of this southeast South Dakota border town.

She saw the economic growth spurred by the arrival of video lottery and Gateway,Inc  in the early 1990's and the downturn caused when the computer maker started downsizing later in the decade.  Today, the first-generation Irish immigrant has a front row view of North Sioux City's resurgence.

A 40 acre parcel of land that Flynn sold to the North Sioux City Development Corp. in 1999 is being converted from a cornfield into what local leaders predict will be a thriving light industrial park.  "This is going to be a real help to North Sioux City," Flynn said.

The park is being developed with the help of state and federal grant money.  And the entrepreneurship of some former Gateway employees is creating job opportunities in a diverse range of business.

The city has created about 800 jobs within the past 18 months, and Kory Menken, executive director of the development corporation.  "If we keep that pace, we'll have created more jobs than Gateway did in a shorter amount of time," he said.

The area still receives a huge boost each year from its video lottery casinos as well, said Menken, who also serves on the state's lottery commission.

The corporation has an option to purchase an additional 120 acres from Flynn for the Flynn Business Park as need arises, and the city recently has received more than $1 million in state and federal grants to add infrastructure improvements to the park, son Don Fuxa, North Sioux City's mayor.

The town of about 2, 500 - which more than doubles in population during the business day - gradually has lost about 5, 000 jobs since Gateway downsized and moved its headquarters from North Sioux City in the late 1990's.

The computer maker remains the city's largest employer, with about 1,000 human resources and other office jobs in one of the company's familiar Holstein-spotted buildings.

But the city's focus in recent years has been on diversifying and rebuilding its work force, concentrating on technology, call-center and food processing jobs.  North Sioux City lures companies eager to take advantage of South Dakota's absence of state income taxes.

Companies including prince Manufacturing, Fimco Industries, Trans-Action Teleservices, EZ-Drop, Radiosophy and Lincare have moved into buildings either formerly owned or leased by Gateway.

"That's the nice thing about these Gateway buildings," Menken said.  "They are turnkey."

Steck Wholesale Foods Inc., which produces English muffins for companies such as Hy-Vee and Affiliated Foods, began production this summer in te former Dakota Valley Foods supermarket.  Now, 14 employees are producing about 12, 000 muffins in several varieties daily.

"We looked at the three surrounding areas," said vice president Jim Calvert.  "The building, the city and the state all worked out for us."

Interbake Foods, a producer of GirlScout cookies, is now adding a new production line and eventually will add 250 to 300 jobs to its work force of 400.

The baking companies are creating a sort of aromatherapy bonus for North Sioux City.  On a recent weekday, the mouth-watering scent of chocolate chip cookies wafted through the town.

"It's the type of processing that we want," Menken said.  "You can't beat it when your town smells like fresh-baked cookies."

A large part of North Sioux City's rebound has come from former Gateway employees who remained in the area or returned to develop businesses of their own.  Radiosophy, an industry leader in digital radio technology, was founded by former Gateway employees Bill Billings and Sue Nail.  The company also employs several other former Gateway workers.

Radiosophy develops digital receivers that pick up free high-definition radio signals from broadcasters, including KWIT in Sioux City, said president and chief executive Richard Skeie.  The technology provides listeners with CD-quality sound and allows broadcasters to send out multiple audio streams and added content.

Radiosophy is marketing its radios using a modified "Gateway/Dell model" ~ selling directly to consumers while partnering with radio broadcasters to promote the technology, Skeie said.  "Well over half our pre-built models are sold, going to broadcaster giveaways," he said.

Companies such as Radiosophy and EZ-Drop, which sells factory overstock electronic equipment and even vehicles via eBay, are key to North Sioux City's continued growth and show former Gateway employee's commitment to the area, Menken said.

EZ-Drop customer service representative Christine Musselman worked as a Gateway computer technician for 10 years until being laid off in 2002.  She "tried a bunch of different jobs" until March, when she was hired by EZ-Drop.

Musselman's past computer experience comes in handy now in selling items such as computer motherboards and hard drives, she said.  "If you know any of the technical aspects of things...it helps," Musselman said.

Comes The Dawn

A friend of mine shared a newspaper clipping with me today that she has been carrying around in her wallet since the year 1976!  Can you believe that?

I love what it says so much I have decided to share it with you here:

Comes the Dawn:

After a while you learn the subtle difference
Between holding a hand and chaining a soul,
And you learn that love doesn't mean leaning
And company doesn't mean security,
And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts
And presents aren't promises,
And you begin to accept your defeats
With your head up and your eyes open
With the grace of a woman, not the grief of a child,
And you learn to build all your roads on today
Because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plans.
And futures have a way of falling down in mid-flight.
After a while you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much.
So you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul,
Instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers,
And you learn that you really can endure...
That you really are strong.
And you really do have worth
And you learn and learn
With every goodbye you learn.

Food for thought....

"To understand people, I must try to hear what they are not saying, what they perhaps will never be able to say."

"We must march to our own drums."

"It is a law of human life,
as certain as gravity:
To live fully, we must
learn to use things and love people...
not love things and use people."

Philosophy

"Fully human people are in deep and
meaningful contact with
the world outside of them.

They listen not only to themselves
but to the voices of their world.
The breadth of their own individual
experience is infinitely multiplied
through a sensitive empathy with others.
They suffer with the suffering.
Rejoice with the joyful.
They are born again every springtime,
feel the impact of the great mysteries of
life:  birth, growth, love, suffering, death.
Their hearts skip along with the "young lovers,"
and they know something
of the exhilaration that is in them.
They also know the ghetto's philosophy of despair,
the lonliness of suffering
without relief.  The bell never tolls
without tolling in some strange way
for them."
